KAT KID ADVENTURE

earth authors an eco-stroy contest - Kat Kid Adventure

Welcome to Earth Authors,
an eco-story contest brought to you by Kat Kid Adventure

Calling All Ocean Lovers! We invite young people between the ages of 5 and 18 from around the world to share their stories about our ocean.  In this contest, we aim to highlight the importance of protecting our ocean. Whether you’re passionate about reducing plastic pollution, preserving coral reefs, or advocating for sustainable fishing practices, this is your platform to raise awareness through your creative writing.  We believe ocean stories rooted in adventure, curiosity and imagination have the power to inspire change, protect our precious marine ecosystems and ensure a better, bluer future for all!  Submit your story between April 8 and May 15, 2024.  Winner will be announced on June 8, 2024, World Ocean Day!

Writing prompt:

Share a favorite moment from your nature explorations and transform it into an epic tale of ocean conservation. Create a thrilling story where you use your unique powers to protect marine life, and ensure the ocean thrives. Why Tell Climate Stories?
Did you know humans are 22 times more likely to remember a story than any other communication? It turns out that our brains are hardwired to enjoy telling and hearing stories.
At the heart of the climate crisis lies stories of human creativity and optimism. What if we could tell stories that showcase the power of imagination and consciousness? Stories that inspire us to take care of our planet and create kinder, safer, and healthier ways of existing alongside our natural world!  That’s where you come in. We can’t wait to hear your eco story.

Why participate in this competition?

Through writing your story, you will:
  • Conduct research and develop a deeper understanding of the state of the ocean and climate issues.
  • Learn to effectively communicate about pressing environmental issues and solutions.
  • Develop your storytelling craft and writing abilities, employing language and ideas in original ways.
  • Connect with nature, your immediate environment, and your own ‘nature’ memories.
  • Earn recognition and prize money! The best part is you’ll get to showcase your talent and commitment to our planet and inspire kids all over the world!
